CLUB UPGRADES: KEY UPDATES & TIMELINES
(Updated: 14 March 2025)

As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the Club's facilities, we are excited to share details about the works taking place from December 2024 to March 2025. Below, you'll find important information about key projects, timelines, and any temporary adjustments to services.

We will share weekly updates via this webpage and through the respective Tennis WhatsApp groups.

Tennis Courts 3-5 Resurfacing (early December 2024 - end March 2025) (Completed)
-
The resurfacing of tennis courts 3, 4, and 5 has been complete.

Tennis Courts 1 & 2 (early March - end May 2025)
-
After careful consideration, the Main Committee and the Management Team have decided to replace Tennis Court 1 with two additional padel courts in response to the growing demand for padel and the success of our current padel court. This decision aligns with our long-term vision of offering a more versatile sports offering.
-
Given padel’s rising popularity, high court utilisation, and the influx of new members specifically joining for padel, adding two more courts will further establish the Club as a leading sports and social destination in Singapore.
-
To further enhance our offerings, we are actively recruiting a Tennis & Padel Director and additional coaches to develop a comprehensive programme for both adults and juniors. Additionally, we plan to introduce a variety of social events that will help foster a vibrant and inclusive tennis and padel community.
-
With the changes in the number of tennis courts, it has been decided that Court 2 will also be upgraded with a new astroturf surface, laid over a porous asphalt layer, similar to courts 3, 4 & 5. This uniformity across all four tennis courts streamlines the organisation of matches and tournaments more efficiently. Additionally, the versatility of astroturf supports a range of other sports, including junior rugby, hockey, and football, maximising the facility’s use for various activities.
-
The four courts with the same upgraded astroturf surface will provide better drainage than any other surface, giving us more playable hours through availability in cases of light drizzle and faster and safer playability after heavier rain showers. It will also provide a consistent playing experience across the four courts and will cater to players of all levels and styles.
-
Work on Courts 1 and 2 will begin immediately once Courts 3, 4, and 5 are completed, which remains on schedule for early March. We are targeting the completion of Courts 1 and 2 by the end of May.

Lower Terrace Upgrades (Completed)
-
Electrical and painting works will commence at the Lower Terrace on 17 February with an expected completion date of first week of March.
-
Please note that, during the next two weeks, the Lower Terrace will be closed on weekdays. However, the Upper Terrace will remain operational, and additional seating will be available in Singapura Room, both of which will serve as our main F&B spaces.
-
Both terraces will be open during weekends.
-
While access to the Lower Terrace will be restricted, members can access the F&B spaces via the Indoor Bar.
-
The roof of the terrace will also undergo a thorough glass cleaning.
-
Lighting and electricity upgrade: we have received various quotes and are exploring collaborations with potential sponsors. New fans will also be installed at the same time to improve the airflow.
-
We are in the final stages of selecting a preferred partner for the awnings at the terrace and tennis pavilion.

Water Play Area (Pending)
-
Efforts are ongoing to make the waterplay area a safer environment for kids by implementing a more durable flooring solution.
-
We are also reviewing the installation of a push button that would allow kids to activate the waterplay system, helping us manage water usage more efficiently.

F&B Update (Completed)
-
We are thrilled to welcome Chef Faisal to our team.
-
As of 16 December, the kitchen is now proudly managed by the Hollandse Club.
-
In the interim, 3 Embers will continue to provide catering services for events until the end of March 2025, after which these services will also be managed in-house.
-
The menu has been adjusted to improve efficiency within the current temporary kitchen setup, while we continue to rebuild our supplier network to ensure the highest quality ingredients. This includes minimising the use of conventional ingredients and optimising costs.

Kitchen Renovation (Completed)
-
Progressing on schedule, with the aim of having the kitchen operational, complete with the relevant licences, by the end of February.

Temporary adjustments
To support these projects, a few temporary adjustments will be in place.
-
A container for debris will be located at the reserved parking area, with alternative options available.
-
Drop-off and pick-up areas remain safe and clear throughout the renovations.

We recognise these works may cause inconvenience and changes to your usual routines, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make the Club an even better place to relax, play, and connect
