Adult Club Tennis Championships, May 18 to 20
Many thanks to the participants of this year’s annual tennis championships. We had 105 entries this year, over 10 events. The weekend had many matches with close scores and brilliant tennis, we had some big upsets and surprise new winners. The tournament was a success with everyone enjoying themselves over the two and a half days. Unfortunately, one opponent we didn’t beat was the rain, which affected matches on both days with us finishing the finals over the following week. Looking forward to seeing you all at the next event.
Junior Club Championships, May 4 to 5
This year’s edition of the Junior club champs had exciting tennis played from the Friday evening to Saturday afternoon. The players showed excellent effort and sportsmanship. Each category from under 6 to 10 played with a modified ball and court size to allow the kids to enjoy having a rally and a taste for playing a real match. The older category 12 and above, used a yellow ball on a full size court.
Junior Tennis Friendly, May 25
The Hollandse Club hosted the Swiss Club Junior Tennis Players to some friendly Doubles Matches. Competitors aged from 10 to 16 played at least two matches with some wanting more after their third match! “Friendlies” against other clubs are a great way for the juniors to meet new players and enjoy playing tennis.
Juniors wanting to participate in future “friendlies” against other clubs can register interest by emailing the Tennis Director at firstname.lastname@example.org
